تَبَارَكَBlessed is HeٱلَّذِىWhoنَزَّلَsent downٱلْفُرْقَانَthe CriterionعَلَىٰuponعَبْدِهِۦHis slaveلِيَكُونَthat he may beلِلْعَـٰلَمِينَto the worldsنَذِيرًاa warner - 1

ٱلَّذِىThe One Who -لَهُۥto Him (belongs)مُلْكُ(the) dominionٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earth,وَلَمْand notيَتَّخِذْHe has takenوَلَدًاa son,وَلَمْand notيَكُنHe hasلَّهُۥfor Himشَرِيكٌa partnerفِىinٱلْمُلْكِthe dominionوَخَلَقَand He (has) createdكُلَّeveryشَىْءٍthing,فَقَدَّرَهُۥand determined itتَقْدِيرًا(with) determination. 2

وَٱتَّخَذُواْYet they have takenمِن دُونِهِۦٓbesides Himءَالِهَةًgodsلَّاnotيَخْلُقُونَthey createشَيْــًٔاanything,وَهُمْwhile theyيُخْلَقُونَare created,وَلَاand notيَمْلِكُونَthey possessلِأَنفُسِهِمْfor themselvesضَرًّاany harmوَلَاand notنَفْعًاany benefit,وَلَاand notيَمْلِكُونَthey controlمَوْتًاdeathوَلَاand notحَيَوٲةًlifeوَلَاand notنُشُورًاresurrection. 3

وَقَالَAnd sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوٓاْdisbelieve,إِنْ"Notهَـٰذَآthisإِلَّآ(is) butإِفْكٌa lie,ٱفْتَرَٮٰهُhe invented itوَأَعَانَهُۥand helped himعَلَيْهِat itقَوْمٌpeopleءَاخَرُونَ‌ۖother."فَقَدْBut verily,جَآءُوthey (have) producedظُلْمًاan injusticeوَزُورًاand a lie. 4

وَقَالُوٓاْAnd they say,أَسَـٰطِيرُ"Talesٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former peopleٱكْتَتَبَهَاwhich he has had writtenفَهِىَand theyتُمْلَىٰare dictatedعَلَيْهِto himبُكْرَةًmorningوَأَصِيلاًand evening." 5

قُلْSay,أَنزَلَهُ"Has sent it downٱلَّذِىthe One Whoيَعْلَمُknowsٱلسِّرَّthe secretفِىinٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِ‌ۚand the earth.إِنَّهُۥIndeed, HeكَانَisغَفُورًاOft-Forgiving,رَّحِيمًاMost Merciful." 6

وَقَالُواْAnd they say,مَالِ"Why doesهَـٰذَاthisٱلرَّسُولِMessengerيَأْكُلُeatٱلطَّعَامَ[the] foodوَيَمْشِىand walkفِىinٱلْأَسْوَاقِ‌ۙthe markets?لَوْلَآWhy notأُنزِلَis sent downإِلَيْهِto himمَلَكٌan Angelفَيَكُونَthen he beمَعَهُۥwith himنَذِيرًاa warner? 7

أَوْOrيُلْقَىٰٓis deliveredإِلَيْهِto himكَنزٌa treasureأَوْorتَكُونُisلَهُۥfor himجَنَّةٌa garden,يَأْكُلُhe may eatمِنْهَا‌ۚfrom it?وَقَالَAnd sayٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَthe wrongdoers,إِن"Notتَتَّبِعُونَyou followإِلَّاbutرَجُلاًa manمَّسْحُورًاbewitched." 8

ٱنظُرْSeeكَيْفَhowضَرَبُواْthey set forthلَكَfor youٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَthe similitudes,فَضَلُّواْbut they have gone astray,فَلَاso notيَسْتَطِيعُونَthey are able (to find)سَبِيلاًa way. 9

تَبَارَكَBlessed is HeٱلَّذِىٓWhoإِنifشَآءَHe willedجَعَلَ(could have) madeلَكَfor youخَيْرًاbetterمِّنthanذَٲلِكَthat -جَنَّـٰتٍgardens -تَجْرِىflowمِنfromتَحْتِهَاunderneath itٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُthe riversوَيَجْعَلand He (could) makeلَّكَfor youقُصُورَۢاpalaces. 10

بَلْNay,كَذَّبُواْthey denyبِٱلسَّاعَةِ‌ۖthe Hourوَأَعْتَدْنَاand We have preparedلِمَنfor (those) whoكَذَّبَdenyبِٱلسَّاعَةِthe Hour,سَعِيرًاa Blazing Fire. 11

إِذَاWhenرَأَتْهُمit sees themمِّنfromمَّكَانِۭa placeبَعِيدٍfar,سَمِعُواْthey will hearلَهَاitsتَغَيُّظًاragingوَزَفِيرًاand roaring. 12

وَإِذَآAnd whenأُلْقُواْthey are thrownمِنْهَاthereofمَكَانًا(in) a placeضَيِّقًاnarrowمُّقَرَّنِينَbound in chains,دَعَوْاْthey will callهُنَالِكَthereثُبُورًا(for) destruction. 13

لَّا"(Do) notتَدْعُواْcallٱلْيَوْمَthis dayثُبُورًا(for) destructionوَٲحِدًاone,وَٱدْعُواْbut callثُبُورًا(for) destructionsكَثِيرًاmany." 14

قُلْSay,أَذَٲلِكَ"Is thatخَيْرٌbetterأَمْorجَنَّةُGardenٱلْخُلْدِ(of) Eternity,ٱلَّتِىwhichوُعِدَis promisedٱلْمُتَّقُونَ‌ۚ(to) the righteous?كَانَتْIt will beلَهُمْfor themجَزَآءًa rewardوَمَصِيرًاand destination. 15

لَّهُمْFor themفِيهَاthereinمَا(is) whateverيَشَآءُونَthey wish,خَـٰلِدِينَ‌ۚthey will abide forever.كَانَIt isعَلَىٰonرَبِّكَyour Lordوَعْدًاa promiseمَّسْــُٔولاًrequested." 16

وَيَوْمَAnd (the) DayيَحْشُرُهُمْHe will gather themوَمَاand whatيَعْبُدُونَthey worshipمِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِbesides Allahفَيَقُولُand He will say,ءَأَنتُمْ"Did youأَضْلَلْتُمْ[you] misleadعِبَادِىMy slavesهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِtheseأَمْorهُمْtheyضَلُّواْwent astrayٱلسَّبِيلَ(from) the way?" 17

قَالُواْThey say,سُبْحَـٰنَكَ"Glory be to You!مَاNotكَانَ يَنۢبَغِىit was properلَنَآfor usأَنthatنَّتَّخِذَwe takeمِن دُونِكَbesides Youمِنْanyأَوْلِيَآءَprotectors.وَلَـٰكِنButمَّتَّعْتَهُمْYou gave them comfortsوَءَابَآءَهُمْand their forefathersحَتَّىٰuntilنَسُواْthey forgotٱلذِّكْرَthe Messageوَكَانُواْand becameقَوْمَۢاa peopleبُورًاruined." 18

فَقَدْ"So verily,كَذَّبُوكُمthey deny youبِمَاin whatتَقُولُونَyou say,فَمَاso notتَسْتَطِيعُونَyou are ableصَرْفًا(to) avertوَلَاand notنَصْرًا‌ۚ(to) help."وَمَنAnd whoeverيَظْلِمdoes wrongمِّنكُمْamong you,نُذِقْهُWe will make him tasteعَذَابًاa punishmentكَبِيرًاgreat. 19

وَمَآAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentقَبْلَكَbefore youمِنَanyٱلْمُرْسَلِينَMessengersإِلَّآbutإِنَّهُمْindeed, theyلَيَأْكُلُونَ[surely] ateٱلطَّعَامَfoodوَيَمْشُونَand walkedفِىinٱلْأَسْوَاقِ‌ۗthe markets.وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We have madeبَعْضَكُمْsome of youلِبَعْضٍfor othersفِتْنَةًa trial,أَتَصْبِرُونَ‌ۗwill you have patience?وَكَانَAnd isرَبُّكَyour LordبَصِيرًاAll-Seer. 20

۞ وَقَالَAnd saidٱلَّذِينَthose whoلَا(do) notيَرْجُونَexpectلِقَآءَنَا(the) meeting with Us,لَوْلَآ"Why notأُنزِلَare sent downعَلَيْنَاto usٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُthe Angelsأَوْorنَرَىٰwe seeرَبَّنَا‌ۗour Lord?"لَقَدِIndeed,ٱسْتَكْبَرُواْthey have become arrogantفِىٓwithinأَنفُسِهِمْthemselvesوَعَتَوْand (become) insolentعُتُوًّا(with) insolenceكَبِيرًاgreat. 21

يَوْمَ(The) Dayيَرَوْنَthey seeٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَthe Angels,لَاnoبُشْرَىٰglad tidingsيَوْمَئِذٍ(will be) that Dayلِّلْمُجْرِمِينَfor the criminals,وَيَقُولُونَand they will say,حِجْرًا"A partitionمَّحْجُورًاforbidden." 22

وَقَدِمْنَآAnd We will proceedإِلَىٰtoمَاwhateverعَمِلُواْthey didمِنْofعَمَلٍ(the) deed(s),فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُand We will make themهَبَآءً(as) dustمَّنثُورًاdispersed. 23

أَصْحَـٰبُ(The) companionsٱلْجَنَّةِ(of) Paradise,يَوْمَئِذٍthat Day,خَيْرٌ(will be in) a betterمُّسْتَقَرًّاabode,وَأَحْسَنُand a betterمَقِيلاًresting-place. 24

وَيَوْمَAnd (the) Dayتَشَقَّقُwill split openٱلسَّمَآءُthe heavensبِٱلْغَمَـٰمِwith the cloudsوَنُزِّلَand (will be) sent downٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُthe Angels,تَنزِيلاًdescending. 25

ٱلْمُلْكُThe Sovereignty,يَوْمَئِذٍthat Dayٱلْحَقُّ(will be) truly,لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ‌ۚfor the Most Gracious.وَكَانَAnd (it will) beيَوْمًاa Dayعَلَىforٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversعَسِيرًاdifficult. 26

وَيَوْمَAnd (the) Dayيَعَضُّwill biteٱلظَّالِمُthe wrongdoerعَلَىٰ[on]يَدَيْهِhis hands,يَقُولُhe will say,يَـٰلَيْتَنِى"O I wish!ٱتَّخَذْتُI had takenمَعَwithٱلرَّسُولِthe Messengerسَبِيلاًa way. 27

يَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰO woe to me!لَيْتَنِىI wishلَمْnotأَتَّخِذْI had takenفُلَانًاthat oneخَلِيلاً(as) a friend. 28

لَّقَدْVerily,أَضَلَّنِىhe led me astrayعَنِfromٱلذِّكْرِthe Reminderبَعْدَafterإِذْ[when]جَآءَنِى‌ۗit (had) come to me.وَكَانَAnd isٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُthe Shaitaanلِلْإِنسَـٰنِto the manخَذُولاًa deserter." 29

وَقَالَAnd saidٱلرَّسُولُthe Messenger,يَـٰرَبِّ"O my Lord!إِنَّIndeed,قَوْمِىmy peopleٱتَّخَذُواْtookهَـٰذَاthisٱلْقُرْءَانَthe Quranمَهْجُورًا(as) a forsaken thing." 30

وَكَذَٲلِكَAnd thusجَعَلْنَاWe have madeلِكُلِّfor everyنَبِىٍّProphetعَدُوًّاan enemy,مِّنَamongٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ‌ۗthe criminals.وَكَفَىٰBut sufficient isبِرَبِّكَyour Lord,هَادِيًا(as) a Guideوَنَصِيرًاand a Helper. 31

وَقَالَAnd saidٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواْdisbelieve,لَوْلَا"Why notنُزِّلَwas revealedعَلَيْهِto himٱلْقُرْءَانُthe Quranجُمْلَةً وَٲحِدَةً‌ۚall at once?"كَذَٲلِكَThus,لِنُثَبِّتَthat We may strengthenبِهِۦtherebyفُؤَادَكَ‌ۖyour heart,وَرَتَّلْنَـٰهُand We have recited itتَرْتِيلاً(with distinct) recitation. 32

وَلَاAnd notيَأْتُونَكَthey come to youبِمَثَلٍwith an exampleإِلَّاbutجِئْنَـٰكَWe bring youبِٱلْحَقِّthe truth,وَأَحْسَنَand (the) bestتَفْسِيرًاexplanation. 33

ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيُحْشَرُونَwill be gatheredعَلَىٰonوُجُوهِهِمْtheir facesإِلَىٰtoجَهَنَّمَHell,أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَthoseشَرٌّ(are the) worstمَّكَانًا(in) positionوَأَضَلُّand most astrayسَبِيلاً(from the) way. 34

وَلَقَدْAnd verily,ءَاتَيْنَاWe gaveمُوسَىMusaٱلْكِتَـٰبَthe Scriptureوَجَعَلْنَاand We appointedمَعَهُۥٓwith himأَخَاهُhis brotherهَـٰرُونَHarunوَزِيرًا(as) an assistant. 35

فَقُلْنَاThen We said,ٱذْهَبَآ"Go both of youإِلَىtoٱلْقَوْمِthe people,ٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَذَّبُواْhave denied,بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَاOur Signs."فَدَمَّرْنَـٰهُمْThen We destroyed themتَدْمِيرًا(with) destruction. 36

وَقَوْمَAnd (the) peopleنُوحٍ(of) Nuh,لَّمَّاwhenكَذَّبُواْthey deniedٱلرُّسُلَthe Messengers,أَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْWe drowned themوَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْand We made themلِلنَّاسِfor mankindءَايَةً‌ۖa sign.وَأَعْتَدْنَاAnd We have preparedلِلظَّـٰلِمِينَfor the wrongdoers.عَذَابًاa punishmentأَلِيمًاpainful. 37

وَعَادًاAnd Adوَثَمُودَاْand Thamudوَأَصْحَـٰبَand (the) dwellersٱلرَّسِّ(of) Ar-rassوَقُرُونَۢاand generationsبَيْنَbetweenذَٲلِكَthatكَثِيرًاmany. 38

وَكُلاًّAnd eachضَرَبْنَاWe have set forthلَهُfor himٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ‌ۖthe examples,وَكُلاًّand eachتَبَّرْنَاWe destroyedتَتْبِيرًا(with) destruction. 39

وَلَقَدْAnd verily,أَتَوْاْthey have comeعَلَىuponٱلْقَرْيَةِthe townٱلَّتِىٓwhichأُمْطِرَتْwas showeredمَطَرَ(with) a rainٱلسَّوْءِ‌ۚ(of) evil.أَفَلَمْThen do notيَكُونُواْthey [were]يَرَوْنَهَا‌ۚsee it?بَلْNay,كَانُواْthey areلَاnotيَرْجُونَexpectingنُشُورًاResurrection. 40

وَإِذَاAnd whenرَأَوْكَthey see you,إِنnotيَتَّخِذُونَكَthey take youإِلَّاexceptهُزُوًا(in) mockery,أَهَـٰذَا"Is thisٱلَّذِىthe one whomبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُAllah has sentرَسُولاً(as) a Messenger? 41

إِن كَادَHe would have almostلَيُضِلُّنَا[surely] misled usعَنْfromءَالِهَتِنَاour godsلَوْلَآif notأَنthatصَبَرْنَاwe had been steadfastعَلَيْهَا‌ۚto them."وَسَوْفَAnd soonيَعْلَمُونَwill knowحِينَwhenيَرَوْنَthey will seeٱلْعَذَابَthe punishment,مَنْwhoأَضَلُّ(is) more astrayسَبِيلاً(from the) way. 42

أَرَءَيْتَHave you seenمَنِ(one) whoٱتَّخَذَtakesإِلَـٰهَهُۥ(as) his godهَوَٮٰهُhis own desire?أَفَأَنتَThen would youتَكُونُbeعَلَيْهِover himوَكِيلاًa guardian? 43

أَمْOrتَحْسَبُdo you thinkأَنَّthatأَكْثَرَهُمْmost of themيَسْمَعُونَhearأَوْorيَعْقِلُونَ‌ۚunderstand?إِنْNotهُمْtheyإِلَّا(are) exceptكَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ‌ۖlike cattle.بَلْNay,هُمْtheyأَضَلُّ(are) more astrayسَبِيلاً(from the) way. 44

أَلَمْDo you notتَرَseeإِلَىٰ[to]رَبِّكَyour LordكَيْفَhowمَدَّHe extendsٱلظِّلَّthe shadow?وَلَوْAnd ifشَآءَHe willed,لَجَعَلَهُۥsurely He (could) have made itسَاكِنًاstationary.ثُمَّThenجَعَلْنَاWe madeٱلشَّمْسَthe sunعَلَيْهِfor itدَلِيلاًan indication. 45

ثُمَّThenقَبَضْنَـٰهُWe withdraw itإِلَيْنَاto Us,قَبْضًاa withdrawalيَسِيرًاgradual. 46

وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoجَعَلَmadeلَكُمُfor youٱلَّيْلَthe nightلِبَاسًا(as) a coveringوَٱلنَّوْمَand the sleepسُبَاتًاa restوَجَعَلَand madeٱلنَّهَارَthe dayنُشُورًاa resurrection. 47

وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِىٓ(is) the One Whoأَرْسَلَsendsٱلرِّيَـٰحَthe windsبُشْرَۢا(as) glad tidingsبَيْنَ يَدَىْbeforeرَحْمَتِهِۦ‌ۚHis Mercy,وَأَنزَلْنَاand We send downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyمَآءًwaterطَهُورًاpure. 48

لِّنُحْــِۧىَThat We may give lifeبِهِۦtherebyبَلْدَةً(to) a landمَّيْتًاdeadوَنُسْقِيَهُۥand We give drinkمِمَّاthereofخَلَقْنَآ(to those) We created,أَنْعَـٰمًاcattleوَأَنَاسِىَّand menكَثِيرًاmany. 49

وَلَقَدْAnd verily,صَرَّفْنَـٰهُWe have distributed itبَيْنَهُمْamong themلِيَذَّكَّرُواْthat they may remember,فَأَبَىٰٓbut refuseأَكْثَرُmostٱلنَّاسِ(of) the peopleإِلَّاexceptكُفُورًاdisbelief. 50

وَلَوْAnd ifشِئْنَاWe willed,لَبَعَثْنَاsurely, We (would) have raisedفِىinكُلِّeveryقَرْيَةٍtownنَّذِيرًاa warner. 51

فَلَاSo (do) notتُطِعِobeyٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversوَجَـٰهِدْهُمand strive (against) themبِهِۦwith it,جِهَادًاa strivingكَبِيرًاgreat. 52

۞ وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoمَرَجَ(has) releasedٱلْبَحْرَيْنِthe two seasهَـٰذَا[this] (one)عَذْبٌpalatableفُرَاتٌand sweetوَهَـٰذَاand [this] (one)مِلْحٌsaltyأُجَاجٌ(and) bitter,وَجَعَلَand He has madeبَيْنَهُمَاbetween themبَرْزَخًاa barrierوَحِجْرًاand a partitionمَّحْجُورًاforbidden. 53

وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoخَلَقَhas createdمِنَfromٱلْمَآءِthe waterبَشَرًاhuman beingفَجَعَلَهُۥand has made (for) himنَسَبًاblood relationshipوَصِهْرًا‌ۗand marriage relationship.وَكَانَAnd isرَبُّكَyour LordقَدِيرًاAll-Powerful. 54

وَيَعْبُدُونَBut they worshipمِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِbesides Allahمَاwhatلَا يَنفَعُهُمْnot profits themوَلَاand notيَضُرُّهُمْ‌ۗharms them,وَكَانَand isٱلْكَافِرُthe disbelieverعَلَىٰagainstرَبِّهِۦhis Lordظَهِيرًاa helper. 55

وَمَآAnd notأَرْسَلْنَـٰكَWe sent youإِلَّاexceptمُبَشِّرًا(as) a bearer of glad tidingsوَنَذِيرًاand a warner. 56

قُلْSay,مَآ"NotأَسْــَٔلُكُمْI ask (of) youعَلَيْهِfor itمِنْanyأَجْرٍpayment,إِلَّاexceptمَن شَآءَ(that) whoever willsأَنtoيَتَّخِذَtakeإِلَىٰtoرَبِّهِۦhis Lordسَبِيلاًa way." 57

وَتَوَكَّلْAnd put your trustعَلَىinٱلْحَىِّthe Ever-Living,ٱلَّذِىthe One Whoلَا يَمُوتُdoes not die,وَسَبِّحْand glorifyبِحَمْدِهِۦ‌ۚwith His Praise.وَكَفَىٰAnd sufficient isبِهِۦHeبِذُنُوبِregarding the sinsعِبَادِهِۦ(of) His slaves,خَبِيرًاAll-Aware, 58

ٱلَّذِىThe One Whoخَلَقَcreatedٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthوَمَاand whateverبَيْنَهُمَا(is) between themفِىinسِتَّةِsixأَيَّامٍperiods,ثُمَّthenٱسْتَوَىٰHe established Himselfعَلَىoverٱلْعَرْشِ‌ۚthe Throne -ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُthe Most Gracious,فَسْــَٔلْso askبِهِۦHimخَبِيرًا(as He is) All-Aware. 59

وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُمُto them,ٱسْجُدُواْ"Prostrateلِلرَّحْمَـٰنِto the Most Gracious."قَالُواْThey say,وَمَا"And whatٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ(is) the Most Gracious?أَنَسْجُدُShould we prostrateلِمَاto whatتَأْمُرُنَاyou order us?"وَزَادَهُمْAnd it increases themنُفُورًا ۩(in) aversion. 60

تَبَارَكَBlessed is HeٱلَّذِىWhoجَعَلَhas placedفِىinٱلسَّمَآءِthe skiesبُرُوجًاconstellationsوَجَعَلَand has placedفِيهَاthereinسِرَٲجًاa lampوَقَمَرًاand a moonمُّنِيرًاshining. 61

وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoجَعَلَmadeٱلَّيْلَthe nightوَٱلنَّهَارَand the dayخِلْفَةً(in) successionلِّمَنْfor whoeverأَرَادَdesiresأَنtoيَذَّكَّرَrememberأَوْorأَرَادَdesiresشُكُورًاto be thankful. 62

وَعِبَادُAnd (the) slavesٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ(of) the Most Graciousٱلَّذِينَ(are) those whoيَمْشُونَwalkعَلَىonٱلْأَرْضِthe earthهَوْنًا(in) humblenessوَإِذَاand whenخَاطَبَهُمُaddress themٱلْجَـٰهِلُونَthe ignorant ones,قَالُواْthey say,سَلَـٰمًا"Peace." 63

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَبِيتُونَspend (the) nightلِرَبِّهِمْbefore their Lord,سُجَّدًاprostratingوَقِيَـٰمًاand standing. 64

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَقُولُونَsay,رَبَّنَا"Our Lord!ٱصْرِفْAvertعَنَّاfrom usعَذَابَthe punishmentجَهَنَّمَ‌ۖ(of) Hell.إِنَّIndeed,عَذَابَهَاits punishmentكَانَisغَرَامًاinseparable, 65

إِنَّهَاIndeed, itسَآءَتْ(is) an evilمُسْتَقَرًّاabodeوَمُقَامًاand resting place." 66

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those who,إِذَآwhenأَنفَقُواْthey spend,لَمْ يُسْرِفُواْ(are) not extravagantوَلَمْ يَقْتُرُواْand are not stingyوَكَانَbut areبَيْنَbetweenذَٲلِكَthat -قَوَامًاmoderate. 67

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoلَا(do) notيَدْعُونَinvokeمَعَwithٱللَّهِAllahإِلَـٰهًاgodءَاخَرَanother,وَلَاand (do) notيَقْتُلُونَ[they] killٱلنَّفْسَthe soulٱلَّتِىwhichحَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُAllah has forbiddenإِلَّاexceptبِٱلْحَقِّby rightوَلَاand (do) notيَزْنُونَ‌ۚcommit adultery.وَمَنAnd whoeverيَفْعَلْdoesذَٲلِكَthatيَلْقَwill meetأَثَامًاa penalty. 68

يُضَـٰعَفْWill be doubledلَهُfor himٱلْعَذَابُthe punishmentيَوْمَ(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ(of) Resurrection,وَيَخْلُدْand he will abide foreverفِيهِۦthereinمُهَانًاhumiliated 69

إِلَّاExceptمَن(he) whoتَابَrepentsوَءَامَنَand believesوَعَمِلَand doesعَمَلاً صَـٰلِحًاrighteous deeds,فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَthen (for) thoseيُبَدِّلُ ٱللَّهُAllah will replaceسَيِّـَٔـاتِهِمْtheir evil deedsحَسَنَـٰتٍ‌ۗ(with) good ones.وَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahغَفُورًاOft-Forgiving,رَّحِيمًاMost Merciful. 70

وَمَنAnd whoeverتَابَrepentsوَعَمِلَand doesصَـٰلِحًاrighteous (deeds),فَإِنَّهُۥthen indeed, heيَتُوبُturnsإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahمَتَابًا(with) repentance. 71

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoلَا(do) notيَشْهَدُونَbear witnessٱلزُّورَ(to) the falsehood,وَإِذَاand whenمَرُّواْthey passبِٱللَّغْوِby futility,مَرُّواْthey passكِرَامًا(as) dignified ones 72

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those who,إِذَاwhenذُكِّرُواْthey are remindedبِـَٔـايَـٰتِof (the) Versesرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lord,لَمْ(do) notيَخِرُّواْfallعَلَيْهَاupon themصُمًّاdeafوَعُمْيَانًاand blind. 73

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَقُولُونَsay,رَبَّنَا"Our Lord!هَبْGrantلَنَاto usمِنْfromأَزْوَٲجِنَاour spousesوَذُرِّيَّـٰتِنَاand our offspringقُرَّةَcomfortأَعْيُنٍ(to) our eyes,وَٱجْعَلْنَاand make usلِلْمُتَّقِينَfor the righteousإِمَامًاa leader." 74

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThoseيُجْزَوْنَwill be awardedٱلْغُرْفَةَthe Chamberبِمَاbecauseصَبَرُواْthey were patientوَيُلَقَّوْنَand they will be metفِيهَاthereinتَحِيَّةً(with) greetingsوَسَلَـٰمًاand peace. 75

خَـٰلِدِينَWill abide foreverفِيهَا‌ۚin it.حَسُنَتْGoodمُسْتَقَرًّا(is) the settlementوَمُقَامًاand a resting place. 76

قُلْSay,مَا"Notيَعْبَؤُاْwill careبِكُمْfor youرَبِّىmy Lord,لَوْلَاif notدُعَآؤُكُمْ‌ۖyour prayer (is to Him).فَقَدْBut verily,كَذَّبْتُمْyou have denied,فَسَوْفَso soonيَكُونُwill beلِزَامَۢاthe inevitable (punishment)." 77
