ٱلْحَمْدُAll Praiseلِلَّهِ(is) for Allahٱلَّذِىٓthe One Whoأَنزَلَ(has) revealedعَلَىٰtoعَبْدِهِHis slaveٱلْكِتَـٰبَthe Book,وَلَمْand notيَجْعَل(has) madeلَّهُۥin itعِوَجَاۜany crookedness. 1

قَيِّمًاStraight,لِّيُنذِرَto warnبَأْسًا(of) a punishmentشَدِيدًاsevere,مِّنfromلَّدُنْهُnear Him,وَيُبَشِّرَand give glad tidingsٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(to) the believers,ٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَعْمَلُونَdoٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِrighteous deeds,أَنَّthatلَهُمْfor themأَجْرًا حَسَنًا(is) a good reward. 2

مَّـٰكِثِينَ(They will) abideفِيهِin itأَبَدًاforever. 3

وَيُنذِرَAnd to warnٱلَّذِينَthose whoقَالُواْsay,ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ"Allah has takenوَلَدًاa son." 4

مَّاNotلَهُمthey haveبِهِۦabout itمِنْanyعِلْمٍknowledgeوَلَاand notلِأَبَآئِهِمْ‌ۚtheir forefathers.كَبُرَتْMighty (is)كَلِمَةًthe wordتَخْرُجُ(that) comes outمِنْofأَفْوَٲهِهِمْ‌ۚtheir mouths.إِنNotيَقُولُونَthey sayإِلَّاexceptكَذِبًاa lie. 5

فَلَعَلَّكَThen perhaps you would (be)بَـٰخِعٌthe one who killsنَّفْسَكَyourselfعَلَىٰٓoverءَاثَـٰرِهِمْtheir footsteps,إِنifلَّمْnotيُؤْمِنُواْthey believeبِهَـٰذَاin thisٱلْحَدِيثِ[the] narration,أَسَفًا(in) grief. 6

إِنَّاIndeed, WeجَعَلْنَاWe have madeمَاwhatعَلَى(is) onٱلْأَرْضِthe earthزِينَةًadornmentلَّهَاfor it,لِنَبْلُوَهُمْthat We may test [them]أَيُّهُمْwhich of themأَحْسَنُ(is) bestعَمَلاً(in) deed. 7

وَإِنَّاAnd indeed, Weلَجَـٰعِلُونَ(will) surely makeمَاwhatعَلَيْهَا(is) on itصَعِيدًاsoilجُرُزًاbarren. 8

أَمْOrحَسِبْتَyou thinkأَنَّthatأَصْحَـٰبَ(the) companionsٱلْكَهْفِ(of) the caveوَٱلرَّقِيمِand the inscriptionكَانُواْwere,مِنْamongءَايَـٰتِنَاOur Signs,عَجَبًاa wonder? 9

إِذْWhenأَوَىretreatedٱلْفِتْيَةُthe youthsإِلَىtoٱلْكَهْفِthe cave,فَقَالُواْand they said,رَبَّنَآ"Our Lord!ءَاتِنَاGrant usمِنfromلَّدُنكَYourselfرَحْمَةًMercy,وَهَيِّئْand facilitateلَنَاfor usمِنْ[from]أَمْرِنَاour affairرَشَدًا(in the) right way." 10

فَضَرَبْنَاSo We castعَلَىٰٓoverءَاذَانِهِمْtheir earsفِىinٱلْكَهْفِthe caveسِنِينَyears -عَدَدًاa number. 11

ثُمَّThenبَعَثْنَـٰهُمْWe raised them upلِنَعْلَمَthat We make evidentأَىُّwhichٱلْحِزْبَيْنِ(of) the two partiesأَحْصَىٰbest calculatedلِمَاfor whatلَبِثُوٓاْ(they had) remainedأَمَدًا(in) time. 12

نَّحْنُWeنَقُصُّnarrateعَلَيْكَto youنَبَأَهُمtheir storyبِٱلْحَقِّ‌ۚin truth.إِنَّهُمْIndeed, they (were)فِتْيَةٌyouthsءَامَنُواْwho believedبِرَبِّهِمْin their Lord,وَزِدْنَـٰهُمْand We increased themهُدًى(in) guidance. 13

وَرَبَطْنَاAnd We made firmعَلَىٰ[on]قُلُوبِهِمْtheir heartsإِذْwhenقَامُواْthey stood upفَقَالُواْand said,رَبُّنَا"Our Lordرَبُّ(is) the Lordٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earth.لَنNeverنَّدْعُوَاْwe will invokeمِن دُونِهِۦٓbesides Himإِلَـٰهًا‌ۖany god.لَّقَدْCertainly,قُلْنَآwe would have said,إِذًاthen,شَطَطًاan enormity. 14

هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِThese,قَوْمُنَاour people,ٱتَّخَذُواْhave takenمِن دُونِهِۦٓbesides Himءَالِهَةً‌ۖgods.لَّوْلَاWhy notيَأْتُونَthey comeعَلَيْهِمto themبِسُلْطَـٰنِۭwith an authorityبَيِّنٍ‌ۖclear?فَمَنْAnd whoأَظْلَمُ(is) more wrongمِمَّنِthan (one) whoٱفْتَرَىٰinventsعَلَىagainstٱللَّهِAllahكَذِبًاa lie? 15

وَإِذِAnd whenٱعْتَزَلْتُمُوهُمْyou withdraw from themوَمَاand whatيَعْبُدُونَthey worshipإِلَّاexceptٱللَّهَAllah,فَأْوُۥٓاْthen retreatإِلَىtoٱلْكَهْفِthe cave.يَنشُرْWill spreadلَكُمْfor youرَبُّكُمyour LordمِّنofرَّحْمَتِهِۦHis Mercyوَيُهَيِّئْand will facilitateلَكُمfor youمِّنْ[from]أَمْرِكُمyour affairمِّرْفَقًا(in) ease." 16

۞ وَتَرَىAnd you (might) have seenٱلشَّمْسَthe sun,إِذَاwhenطَلَعَتit rose,تَّزَٲوَرُinclining awayعَنfromكَهْفِهِمْtheir caveذَاتَtoٱلْيَمِينِthe right,وَإِذَاand whenغَرَبَتit set,تَّقْرِضُهُمْpassing away from themذَاتَtoٱلشِّمَالِthe leftوَهُمْwhile theyفِى(lay) inفَجْوَةٍthe open spaceمِّنْهُ‌ۚthereof.ذَٲلِكَThatمِنْ(was) fromءَايَـٰتِ(the) Signsٱللَّهِ‌ۗ(of) Allah.مَنWhoeverيَهْدِ ٱللَّهُAllah guidesفَهُوَand heٱلْمُهْتَدِ‌ۖ(is) the guided one,وَمَنand whoeverيُضْلِلْHe lets go astrayفَلَنthen neverتَجِدَyou will findلَهُۥfor himوَلِيًّاa protector,مُّرْشِدًاa guide. 17

وَتَحْسَبُهُمْAnd you (would) think themأَيْقَاظًاawakeوَهُمْwhile theyرُقُودٌ‌ۚ(were) asleep.وَنُقَلِّبُهُمْAnd We turned themذَاتَtoٱلْيَمِينِthe rightوَذَاتَand toٱلشِّمَالِ‌ۖthe left,وَكَلْبُهُمwhile their dogبَـٰسِطٌstretchedذِرَاعَيْهِhis two forelegsبِٱلْوَصِيدِ‌ۚat the entrance.لَوِIfٱطَّلَعْتَyou had lookedعَلَيْهِمْat them,لَوَلَّيْتَyou (would) have surely turned backمِنْهُمْfrom themفِرَارًا(in) flightوَلَمُلِئْتَand surely you would have been filledمِنْهُمْby themرُعْبًا(with) terror. 18

وَكَذَٲلِكَAnd similarly,بَعَثْنَـٰهُمْWe raised themلِيَتَسَآءَلُواْthat they might questionبَيْنَهُمْ‌ۚamong them.قَالَSaidقَآئِلٌa speakerمِّنْهُمْamong them,كَمْ"How longلَبِثْتُمْ‌ۖhave you remained?"قَالُواْThey said,لَبِثْنَا"We have remainedيَوْمًاa dayأَوْorبَعْضَa partيَوْمٍ‌ۚ(of) a day."قَالُواْThey said,رَبُّكُمْ"Your Lordأَعْلَمُknows bestبِمَاhow longلَبِثْتُمْyou have remained.فَٱبْعَثُوٓاْSo sendأَحَدَكُمone of youبِوَرِقِكُمْ هَـٰذِهِۦٓwith this silver coin of yoursإِلَىtoٱلْمَدِينَةِthe city,فَلْيَنظُرْand let him seeأَيُّهَآwhich isأَزْكَىٰthe purestطَعَامًاfood,فَلْيَأْتِكُمand let him bring to youبِرِزْقٍprovisionمِّنْهُfrom it,وَلْيَتَلَطَّفْand let him be cautious.وَلَا يُشْعِرَنَّAnd let not be awareبِكُمْabout youأَحَدًاanyone." 19

إِنَّهُمْ"Indeed, [they]إِنifيَظْهَرُواْthey come to knowعَلَيْكُمْabout you,يَرْجُمُوكُمْthey will stone youأَوْorيُعِيدُوكُمْreturn youفِىtoمِلَّتِهِمْtheir religion.وَلَنAnd neverتُفْلِحُوٓاْwill you succeedإِذًاthen -أَبَدًاever." 20

وَكَذَٲلِكَAnd similarly,أَعْثَرْنَاWe made knownعَلَيْهِمْabout themلِيَعْلَمُوٓاْthat they might knowأَنَّthatوَعْدَ(the) Promiseٱللَّهِ(of) Allahحَقٌّ(is) true,وَأَنَّand thatٱلسَّاعَةَ(about) the Hourلَا(there is) noرَيْبَdoubtفِيهَآin it.إِذْWhenيَتَنَـٰزَعُونَthey disputedبَيْنَهُمْamong themselvesأَمْرَهُمْ‌ۖabout their affairفَقَالُواْand they said,ٱبْنُواْ"Constructعَلَيْهِمover themبُنْيَـٰنًا‌ۖa structure.رَّبُّهُمْTheir Lordأَعْلَمُknows bestبِهِمْ‌ۚabout them."قَالَSaidٱلَّذِينَthose whoغَلَبُواْprevailedعَلَىٰٓinأَمْرِهِمْtheir matter,لَنَتَّخِذَنَّ"Surely we will takeعَلَيْهِمover themمَّسْجِدًاa place of worship." 21

سَيَقُولُونَThey say,ثَلَـٰثَةٌ(they were) three,رَّابِعُهُمْthe forth of themكَلْبُهُمْtheir dog;وَيَقُولُونَand they sayخَمْسَةٌ(they were) fiveسَادِسُهُمْthe sixth of themكَلْبُهُمْtheir dog -رَجْمَۢاguessingبِٱلْغَيْبِ‌ۖabout the unseen;وَيَقُولُونَand they say,سَبْعَةٌ(they were) sevenوَثَامِنُهُمْand the eight of themكَلْبُهُمْ‌ۚtheir dog.قُلSay,رَّبِّىٓ"My Lord,أَعْلَمُknows bestبِعِدَّتِهِمtheir number.مَّاNoneيَعْلَمُهُمْknows themإِلَّاexceptقَلِيلٌ‌ۗa few.فَلَاSo (do) notتُمَارِargueفِيهِمْabout themإِلَّاexceptمِرَآءً(with) an argumentظَـٰهِرًاobvious,وَلَاand (do) notتَسْتَفْتِinquireفِيهِمabout themمِّنْهُمْamong themأَحَدًا(from) anyone." 22

وَلَاAnd (do) notتَقُولَنَّsayلِشَاْىْءٍof anything,إِنِّى"Indeed, Iفَاعِلٌwill doذَٲلِكَthatغَدًاtomorrow." 23

إِلَّآExcept,أَن"Ifيَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ‌ۚAllah wills."وَٱذْكُرAnd rememberرَّبَّكَyour Lordإِذَاwhenنَسِيتَyou forgetوَقُلْand say,عَسَىٰٓ"Perhapsأَن[that]يَهْدِيَنِwill guide meرَبِّىmy Lordلِأَقْرَبَto a nearer (way)مِنْthanهَـٰذَاthisرَشَدًاright way." 24

وَلَبِثُواْAnd they remainedفِىinكَهْفِهِمْtheir caveثَلَـٰثَ(for) threeمِاْئَةٍhundredسِنِينَyearsوَٱزْدَادُواْand addتِسْعًاnine. 25

قُلِSay,ٱللَّهُ"Allahأَعْلَمُknows bestبِمَاabout what (period)لَبِثُواْ‌ۖthey remained.لَهُۥFor Himغَيْبُ(is the) unseenٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِ‌ۖand the earth.أَبْصِرْHow clearly He sees!بِهِۦ[of it]وَأَسْمِعْ‌ۚAnd how clearly He hears!مَاNotلَهُمfor themمِّن دُونِهِۦbesides Himمِنanyوَلِىٍّprotector,وَلَاand notيُشْرِكُHe sharesفِى[in]حُكْمِهِۦٓHis Commandsأَحَدًا(with) anyone." 26

وَٱتْلُAnd reciteمَآwhatأُوحِىَhas been revealedإِلَيْكَto youمِنofكِتَابِthe Bookرَبِّكَ‌ۖ(of) your Lord.لَاNoneمُبَدِّلَcan changeلِكَلِمَـٰتِهِۦHis Wordsوَلَنand neverتَجِدَyou will findمِن دُونِهِۦbesides Himمُلْتَحَدًاa refuge. 27

وَٱصْبِرْAnd be patient,نَفْسَكَyourself,مَعَwithٱلَّذِينَthose whoيَدْعُونَcallرَبَّهُمtheir Lordبِٱلْغَدَوٲةِin the morningوَٱلْعَشِىِّand the eveningيُرِيدُونَdesiringوَجْهَهُۥ‌ۖHis FaceوَلَاAnd (let) notتَعْدُpass beyondعَيْنَاكَyour eyesعَنْهُمْover them,تُرِيدُdesiringزِينَةَadornmentٱلْحَيَوٲةِ(of) the lifeٱلدُّنْيَا‌ۖ(of) the world,وَلَاand (do) notتُطِعْobeyمَنْwhomأَغْفَلْنَاWe Have Made Heedlessقَلْبَهُۥhis heartعَنofذِكْرِنَاOur rememberance,وَٱتَّبَعَand followsهَوَٮٰهُhis desiresوَكَانَand isأَمْرُهُۥhis affairفُرُطًا(in) excess. 28

وَقُلِAnd say,ٱلْحَقُّ"The truthمِن(is) fromرَّبِّكُمْ‌ۖyour Lord,فَمَنso whoeverشَآءَwills -فَلْيُؤْمِنlet him believeوَمَنand whoeverشَآءَwills -فَلْيَكْفُرْ‌ۚlet him disbelieve."إِنَّآIndeed, Weأَعْتَدْنَاhave preparedلِلظَّـٰلِمِينَfor the wrongdoersنَارًاa Fire,أَحَاطَwill surroundبِهِمْthemسُرَادِقُهَا‌ۚits walls.وَإِنAnd ifيَسْتَغِيثُواْthey call for relief,يُغَاثُواْthey will be relievedبِمَآءٍwith waterكَٱلْمُهْلِlike molten brass,يَشْوِى(which) scaldsٱلْوُجُوهَ‌ۚthe faces.بِئْسَWretchedٱلشَّرَابُ(is) the drink,وَسَآءَتْand evilمُرْتَفَقًا(is) the resting place. 29

إِنَّIndeed,ٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُواْbelievedوَعَمِلُواْand didٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِthe good deeds,إِنَّاindeed, Weلَا نُضِيعُwill not let go wasteأَجْرَ(the) rewardمَنْ(of one) whoأَحْسَنَdoes goodعَمَلاًdeeds. 30

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThose,لَهُمْfor themجَنَّـٰتُ(are) Gardensعَدْنٍof Eden,تَجْرِىflowsمِنfromتَحْتِهِمُunderneath themٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُthe rivers.يُحَلَّوْنَThey will be adornedفِيهَاthereinمِنْ[of] (with)أَسَاوِرَbraceletsمِنofذَهَبٍgoldوَيَلْبَسُونَand will wearثِيَابًاgarments,خُضْرًاgreen,مِّنofسُندُسٍfine silkوَإِسْتَبْرَقٍand heavy brocade,مُّتَّكِــِٔينَrecliningفِيهَاthereinعَلَىonٱلْأَرَآئِكِ‌ۚadorned couches.نِعْمَExcellentٱلثَّوَابُ(is) the reward,وَحَسُنَتْand goodمُرْتَفَقًا(is) the resting place. 31

۞ وَٱضْرِبْAnd set forthلَهُمto themمَّثَلاًthe exampleرَّجُلَيْنِof two men:جَعَلْنَاWe providedلِأَحَدِهِمَاfor one of themجَنَّتَيْنِtwo gardensمِنْofأَعْنَـٰبٍgrapes,وَحَفَفْنَـٰهُمَاand We bordered themبِنَخْلٍwith date-palms,وَجَعَلْنَاand We placedبَيْنَهُمَاbetween both of themزَرْعًاcrops. 32

كِلْتَاEachٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ(of) the two gardensءَاتَتْbrought forthأُكُلَهَاits produceوَلَمْand notتَظْلِمdid wrongمِّنْهُof itشَيْــًٔا‌ۚanything.وَفَجَّرْنَاAnd We caused to gush forthخِلَـٰلَهُمَاwithin themنَهَرًاa river. 33

وَكَانَAnd wasلَهُۥfor himثَمَرٌfruit,فَقَالَso he saidلِصَـٰحِبِهِۦto his companionوَهُوَwhile heيُحَاوِرُهُۥٓ(was) talking with him,أَنَا۟"I amأَكْثَرُgreaterمِنكَthan youمَالاً(in) wealthوَأَعَزُّand strongerنَفَرًا(in) men." 34

وَدَخَلَAnd he enteredجَنَّتَهُۥhis gardenوَهُوَwhile heظَالِمٌ(was) unjustلِّنَفْسِهِۦto himself.قَالَHe said,مَآ"NotأَظُنُّI thinkأَنthatتَبِيدَwill perishهَـٰذِهِۦٓthisأَبَدًاever. 35

وَمَآAnd notأَظُنُّI thinkٱلسَّاعَةَthe Hourقَآئِمَةًwill occur.وَلَئِنAnd ifرُّدِدتُّI am brought backإِلَىٰtoرَبِّىmy Lord,لَأَجِدَنَّI will surely findخَيْرًاbetterمِّنْهَاthan thisمُنقَلَبًا(as) a return." 36

قَالَSaidلَهُۥto himصَاحِبُهُۥhis companionوَهُوَwhile heيُحَاوِرُهُۥٓwas talking to him,أَكَفَرْتَ"Do you disbelieveبِٱلَّذِىin One Whoخَلَقَكَcreated youمِنfromتُرَابٍdustثُمَّthenمِنfromنُّطْفَةٍa minute quantity of semen.ثُمَّthenسَوَّٮٰكَfashioned youرَجُلاً(into) a man? 37

لَّـٰكِنَّا۟But as for me,هُوَHeٱللَّهُ(is) Allah,رَبِّىmy Lord,وَلَآand notأُشْرِكُI associateبِرَبِّىٓwith my Lordأَحَدًاanyone. 38

وَلَوْلَآAnd why (did you) not,إِذْwhenدَخَلْتَyou enteredجَنَّتَكَyour gardenقُلْتَsay,مَا`Whatشَآءَ ٱللَّهُAllah wills;لَا(there is) noقُوَّةَpowerإِلَّاexceptبِٱللَّهِ‌ۚwith Allah.'إِنIfتَرَنِyou seeأَنَا۟meأَقَلَّlesserمِنكَthan youمَالاً(in) wealthوَوَلَدًاand children, 39

فَعَسَىٰIt may beرَبِّىٓ أَنthat my Lordيُؤْتِيَنِwill give meخَيْرًاbetterمِّنthanجَنَّتِكَyour gardenوَيُرْسِلَand will sendعَلَيْهَاupon itحُسْبَانًاa calamityمِّنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe sky,فَتُصْبِحَthen it will becomeصَعِيدًاgroundزَلَقًاslippery, 40

أَوْOrيُصْبِحَwill become,مَآؤُهَاits water,غَوْرًاsunken,فَلَنso neverتَسْتَطِيعَyou will be ableلَهُۥ طَلَبًاto find it." 41

وَأُحِيطَAnd were surroundedبِثَمَرِهِۦhis fruits,فَأَصْبَحَso he beganيُقَلِّبُtwistingكَفَّيْهِhis handsعَلَىٰoverمَآwhatأَنفَقَhe (had) spentفِيهَاon it,وَهِىَwhile it (had)خَاوِيَةٌcollapsedعَلَىٰonعُرُوشِهَاits trellises,وَيَقُولُand he said,يَـٰلَيْتَنِى"Oh! I wishلَمْ أُشْرِكْI had not associatedبِرَبِّىٓwith my Lordأَحَدًاanyone." 42

وَلَمْAnd notتَكُنwasلَّهُۥfor himفِئَةٌa groupيَنصُرُونَهُۥ(to) help himمِن دُونِother thanٱللَّهِAllah,وَمَاand notكَانَwasمُنتَصِرًا(he) supported. 43

هُنَالِكَThere,ٱلْوَلَـٰيَةُthe protectionلِلَّهِ(is) from Allahٱلْحَقِّ‌ۚthe True.هُوَHeخَيْرٌ(is the) bestثَوَابًا(to) rewardوَخَيْرٌand (the) bestعُقْبًا(for) the final end. 44

وَٱضْرِبْAnd presentلَهُمto themمَّثَلَthe exampleٱلْحَيَوٲةِ(of) the lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the world,كَمَآءٍlike waterأَنزَلْنَـٰهُwhich We send downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe sky,فَٱخْتَلَطَthen minglesبِهِۦwith itنَبَاتُ(the) vegetationٱلْأَرْضِ(of) the earthفَأَصْبَحَthen becomesهَشِيمًاdry stalks,تَذْرُوهُit (is) scatteredٱلرِّيَـٰحُ‌ۗ(by) the winds.وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُAnd Allahعَلَىٰoverكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingمُّقْتَدِرًا(is) All Able. 45

ٱلْمَالُThe wealthوَٱلْبَنُونَand childrenزِينَةُ(are) adornmentٱلْحَيَوٲةِ(of) the lifeٱلدُّنْيَا‌ۖ(of) the world.وَٱلْبَـٰقِيَـٰتُBut the enduringٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتُgood deedsخَيْرٌ(are) betterعِندَnearرَبِّكَyour Lordثَوَابًا(for) rewardوَخَيْرٌand betterأَمَلاً(for) hope. 46

وَيَوْمَAnd the DayنُسَيِّرُWe will cause (to) moveٱلْجِبَالَthe mountainsوَتَرَىand you will seeٱلْأَرْضَthe earthبَارِزَةً(as) a leveled plainوَحَشَرْنَـٰهُمْand We will gather themفَلَمْand notنُغَادِرْWe will leave behindمِنْهُمْfrom themأَحَدًاanyone. 47

وَعُرِضُواْAnd they will be presentedعَلَىٰbeforeرَبِّكَyour Lordصَفًّا(in) rows,لَّقَدْ"Certainly,جِئْتُمُونَاyou have come to UsكَمَاasخَلَقْنَـٰكُمْWe created youأَوَّلَthe firstمَرَّةِۭ‌ۚtime.بَلْNay,زَعَمْتُمْyou claimedأَلَّنthat notنَّجْعَلَWe madeلَكُمfor youمَّوْعِدًاan appointment." 48

وَوُضِعَAnd (will) be placedٱلْكِتَـٰبُthe Bookفَتَرَىand you will seeٱلْمُجْرِمِينَthe criminalsمُشْفِقِينَfearfulمِمَّاof whatفِيهِ(is) in it,وَيَقُولُونَand they will say,يَـٰوَيْلَتَنَا"Oh, woe to us!مَالِWhat (is) forهَـٰذَاthisٱلْكِتَـٰبِ[the] Book,لَاnotيُغَادِرُleavesصَغِيرَةًa smallوَلَاand notكَبِيرَةًa greatإِلَّآexceptأَحْصَـٰهَا‌ۚhas enumerated it?"وَوَجَدُواْAnd they will findمَاwhatعَمِلُواْthey didحَاضِرًا‌ۗpresented.وَلَاAnd notيَظْلِمُdeals unjustlyرَبُّكَyour Lordأَحَدًا(with) anyone. 49

وَإِذْAnd whenقُلْنَاWe saidلِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِto the Angels,ٱسْجُدُواْ"Prostrateلِأَدَمَto Adam,"فَسَجَدُوٓاْso they prostratedإِلَّآexceptإِبْلِيسَIblis.كَانَ(He) wasمِنَofٱلْجِنِّthe jinn,فَفَسَقَand he rebelledعَنْagainstأَمْرِthe Commandرَبِّهِۦٓ‌ۗ(of) his Lord.أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُۥWill you then take himوَذُرِّيَّتَهُۥٓand his offspringأَوْلِيَآءَ(as) protectorsمِن دُونِىother than Me,وَهُمْwhile theyلَكُمْ(are) to youعَدُوُّۢ‌ۚenemies?بِئْسَWretchedلِلظَّـٰلِمِينَfor the wrongdoersبَدَلاً(is) the exchange. 50

۞ مَّآNotأَشْهَدتُّهُمْI made them witnessخَلْقَthe creationٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthوَلَاand notخَلْقَthe creationأَنفُسِهِمْ(of) themselvesوَمَاand notكُنتُI Amمُتَّخِذَthe One to takeٱلْمُضِلِّينَthe misleadersعَضُدًا(as) helper(s). 51

وَيَوْمَAnd the DayيَقُولُHe will say,نَادُواْ"CallشُرَكَآءِىَMy partners,ٱلَّذِينَthose whoزَعَمْتُمْyou claimed,"فَدَعَوْهُمْthen they will call themفَلَمْbut notيَسْتَجِيبُواْthey will respondلَهُمْto them.وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We will makeبَيْنَهُمbetween themمَّوْبِقًاa barrier. 52

وَرَءَاAnd will seeٱلْمُجْرِمُونَthe criminalsٱلنَّارَthe Fire,فَظَنُّوٓاْand they (will be) certainأَنَّهُمthat theyمُّوَاقِعُوهَاare to fall in it.وَلَمْAnd notيَجِدُواْthey will findعَنْهَاfrom itمَصْرِفًاa way of escape. 53

وَلَقَدْAnd certainly,صَرَّفْنَاWe have explainedفِىinهَـٰذَاthisٱلْقُرْءَانِthe Quranلِلنَّاسِfor mankindمِنofكُلِّeveryمَثَلٍ‌ۚexample.وَكَانَBut isٱلْإِنسَـٰنُthe manأَكْثَرَ(in) mostشَىْءٍthingsجَدَلاًquarrelsome. 54

وَمَاAnd nothingمَنَعَpreventsٱلنَّاسَmenأَنthatيُؤْمِنُوٓاْthey believeإِذْwhenجَآءَهُمُhas come to themٱلْهُدَىٰthe guidanceوَيَسْتَغْفِرُواْand they ask forgivenessرَبَّهُمْ(of) their Lord,إِلَّآexceptأَنthatتَأْتِيَهُمْcomes to themسُنَّةُ(the) wayٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former (people)أَوْorيَأْتِيَهُمُcomes to themٱلْعَذَابُthe punishmentقُبُلاًbefore (them)? 55

وَمَاAnd notنُرْسِلُWe sendٱلْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengersإِلَّاexceptمُبَشِّرِينَ(as) bearers of glad tidingsوَمُنذِرِينَ‌ۚand (as) warners.وَيُجَـٰدِلُAnd disputeٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواْdisbelieveبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِwith falsehood,لِيُدْحِضُواْto refuteبِهِtherebyٱلْحَقَّ‌ۖthe truth.وَٱتَّخَذُوٓاْAnd they takeءَايَـٰتِىMy Versesوَمَآand whatأُنذِرُواْthey are warnedهُزُوًا(in) ridicule. 56

وَمَنْAnd whoأَظْلَمُ(is) more wrongمِمَّنthan (he) whoذُكِّرَis remindedبِـَٔـايَـٰتِof the Versesرَبِّهِۦ(of) his Lord,فَأَعْرَضَbut turns awayعَنْهَاfrom them,وَنَسِىَand forgetsمَاwhatقَدَّمَتْhave sent forthيَدَاهُ‌ۚhis hands?إِنَّاIndeed, Weجَعَلْنَا[We] have placedعَلَىٰoverقُلُوبِهِمْtheir heartsأَكِنَّةًcoverings,أَنlestيَفْقَهُوهُthey understand itوَفِىٓand inءَاذَانِهِمْtheir earsوَقْرًا‌ۖ(is) deafness.وَإِنAnd ifتَدْعُهُمْyou call themإِلَىtoٱلْهُدَىٰthe guidance,فَلَنthen neverيَهْتَدُوٓاْthey will be guidedإِذًاthenأَبَدًاever. 57

وَرَبُّكَAnd your Lordٱلْغَفُورُ(is) the Most Forgiving,ذُوOwnerٱلرَّحْمَةِ‌ۖ(of) the Mercy.لَوْIfيُؤَاخِذُهُمHe were to seize themبِمَاfor whatكَسَبُواْthey have earned,لَعَجَّلَsurely, He (would) have hastenedلَهُمُfor themٱلْعَذَابَ‌ۚthe punishment.بَلButلَّهُمfor themمَّوْعِدٌ(is) an appointment,لَّنneverيَجِدُواْthey will findمِن دُونِهِۦother than itمَوْئِلاًan escape. 58

وَتِلْكَAnd theseٱلْقُرَىٰٓ[the] towns,أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْWe destroyed themلَمَّاwhenظَلَمُواْthey wronged,وَجَعَلْنَاand We madeلِمَهْلِكِهِمfor their destructionمَّوْعِدًاan appointed time. 59

وَإِذْAnd whenقَالَsaidمُوسَىٰMusaلِفَتَـٰهُto his boy,لَآ"NotأَبْرَحُI will ceaseحَتَّىٰٓuntilأَبْلُغَI reachمَجْمَعَthe junctionٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ(of) the two seasأَوْorأَمْضِىَI continueحُقُبًا(for) a long period." 60

فَلَمَّاBut whenبَلَغَاthey reachedمَجْمَعَthe junctionبَيْنِهِمَاbetween them,نَسِيَاthey forgotحُوتَهُمَاtheir fish,فَٱتَّخَذَand it tookسَبِيلَهُۥits wayفِىintoٱلْبَحْرِthe sea,سَرَبًاslipping away. 61

فَلَمَّاThen whenجَاوَزَاthey had passed beyondقَالَhe saidلِفَتَـٰهُto his boy,ءَاتِنَا"Bring usغَدَآءَنَاour morning meal.لَقَدْCertainlyلَقِينَاwe have sufferedمِنinسَفَرِنَاour journeyهَـٰذَاthis,نَصَبًاfatigue." 62

قَالَHe said,أَرَءَيْتَ"Did you see,إِذْwhenأَوَيْنَآwe retiredإِلَىtoٱلصَّخْرَةِthe rock?فَإِنِّىThen indeed, Iنَسِيتُ[I] forgotٱلْحُوتَthe fish.وَمَآAnd notأَنْسَـٰنِيهُmade me forget itإِلَّاexceptٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُthe Shaitaanأَنْthatأَذْكُرَهُۥ‌ۚI mention it.وَٱتَّخَذَAnd it tookسَبِيلَهُۥits wayفِىintoٱلْبَحْرِthe seaعَجَبًاamazingly." 63

قَالَHe said,ذَٲلِكَ"Thatمَا(is) whatكُنَّاwe wereنَبْغِ‌ۚseeking."فَٱرْتَدَّاSo they returnedعَلَىٰٓonءَاثَارِهِمَاtheir footprints,قَصَصًاretracing. 64

فَوَجَدَاThen they foundعَبْدًاa servantمِّنْfromعِبَادِنَآOur servants,ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُwhom We had givenرَحْمَةًmercyمِّنْfromعِندِنَاUs,وَعَلَّمْنَـٰهُand We had taught himمِنfromلَّدُنَّاUsعِلْمًاa knowledge. 65

قَالَSaidلَهُۥto himمُوسَىٰMusa,هَلْ"May,أَتَّبِعُكَI follow youعَلَىٰٓonأَنthatتُعَلِّمَنِyou teach meمِمَّاof whatعُلِّمْتَyou have been taughtرُشْدًا(of) right guidance?" 66

قَالَHe said,إِنَّكَ"Indeed, youلَنneverتَسْتَطِيعَwill be able,مَعِىَwith me,صَبْرًا(to have) patience. 67

وَكَيْفَAnd how canتَصْبِرُyou have patienceعَلَىٰforمَاwhatلَمْnotتُحِطْyou encompassبِهِۦof itخُبْرًاany knowledge." 68

قَالَHe said,سَتَجِدُنِىٓ"You will find me,إِنifشَآءَ ٱللَّهُAllah wills,صَابِرًاpatient,وَلَآand notأَعْصِىI will disobeyلَكَyourأَمْرًاorder." 69

قَالَHe said,فَإِنِ"Then ifٱتَّبَعْتَنِىyou follow me,فَلَا(do) notتَسْــَٔلْنِىask meعَنaboutشَىْءٍanythingحَتَّىٰٓuntilأُحْدِثَI presentلَكَto youمِنْهُof itذِكْرًاa mention." 70

فَٱنطَلَقَاSo they both set outحَتَّىٰٓuntilإِذَاwhenرَكِبَاthey had embarkedفِىonٱلسَّفِينَةِthe shipخَرَقَهَا‌ۖhe made a hole in it.قَالَHe said,أَخَرَقْتَهَا"Have you made a hole in it,لِتُغْرِقَto drownأَهْلَهَاits people?لَقَدْCertainly,جِئْتَyou have doneشَيْــًٔاa thingإِمْرًاgrave." 71

قَالَHe said,أَلَمْ"Did notأَقُلْI say,إِنَّكَindeed, youلَنneverتَسْتَطِيعَwill be ableمَعِىَwith meصَبْرًا(to have) patience?" 72

قَالَHe said,لَا"(Do) not,تُؤَاخِذْنِىblame meبِمَاfor whatنَسِيتُI forgotوَلَاand (do) notتُرْهِقْنِىbe hard (upon) meمِنْinأَمْرِىmy affairعُسْرًا(raising) difficulty." 73

فَٱنطَلَقَاThen they both set outحَتَّىٰٓuntilإِذَاwhenلَقِيَاthey metغُلَـٰمًاa boy,فَقَتَلَهُۥthen he killed him.قَالَHe said,أَقَتَلْتَ" Have you killedنَفْسًاa soul,زَكِيَّةَۢpure,بِغَيْرِfor other thanنَفْسٍa soul?لَّقَدْCertainly,جِئْتَyou have doneشَيْــًٔاa thingنُّكْرًاevil." 74

۞ قَالَHe said,أَلَمْ"Did notأَقُلI sayلَّكَto youإِنَّكَthat you,لَنneverتَسْتَطِيعَwill be ableمَعِىَwith meصَبْرًا(to have) patience?" 75

قَالَHe said,إِن"IfسَأَلْتُكَI ask youعَنaboutشَىْءِۭanythingبَعْدَهَاafter it,فَلَاthen (do) notتُصَـٰحِبْنِى‌ۖkeep me as a companion.قَدْVerily,بَلَغْتَyou have reachedمِن لَّدُنِّىfrom meعُذْرًاan excuse." 76

فَٱنطَلَقَاSo they set outحَتَّىٰٓuntilإِذَآwhenأَتَيَآthey cameأَهْلَ(to the) peopleقَرْيَةٍ(of) a town,ٱسْتَطْعَمَآthey asked for foodأَهْلَهَا(from) its people,فَأَبَوْاْbut they refusedأَنtoيُضَيِّفُوهُمَاoffer them hospitality.فَوَجَدَاThen they foundفِيهَاin itجِدَارًاa wallيُرِيدُ(that) want(ed)أَنtoيَنقَضَّcollapse,فَأَقَامَهُۥ‌ۖso he set it straight.قَالَHe said,لَوْ"Ifشِئْتَyou wishedلَتَّخَذْتَsurely you (could) have takenعَلَيْهِfor itأَجْرًاa payment." 77

قَالَHe said,هَـٰذَا"Thisفِرَاقُ(is) partingبَيْنِىbetween meوَبَيْنِكَ‌ۚand between you.سَأُنَبِّئُكَI will inform youبِتَأْوِيلِof (the) interpretationمَا(of) whatلَمْnotتَسْتَطِعyou were ableعَّلَيْهِon itصَبْرًا(to have) patience. 78

أَمَّاAs forٱلسَّفِينَةُthe ship,فَكَانَتْit wasلِمَسَـٰكِينَof (the) poor peopleيَعْمَلُونَworkingفِىinٱلْبَحْرِthe sea.فَأَرَدتُّSo I intendedأَنْthatأَعِيبَهَاI cause defect (in) itوَكَانَ(as there) wasوَرَآءَهُمafter themمَّلِكٌa kingيَأْخُذُwho seizedكُلَّeveryسَفِينَةٍshipغَصْبًا(by) force. 79

وَأَمَّاAnd as forٱلْغُلَـٰمُthe boyفَكَانَ أَبَوَاهُhis parents wereمُؤْمِنَيْنِbelievers,فَخَشِينَآand we fearedأَنthatيُرْهِقَهُمَاhe would overburden themطُغْيَـٰنًا(by) transgressionوَكُفْرًاand disbelief. 80

فَأَرَدْنَآSo we intendedأَنthatيُبْدِلَهُمَاwould change for themرَبُّهُمَاtheir Lord,خَيْرًاa betterمِّنْهُthan himزَكَوٲةً(in) purityوَأَقْرَبَand nearerرُحْمًا(in) affection. 81

وَأَمَّاAnd as forٱلْجِدَارُthe wall,فَكَانَit wasلِغُلَـٰمَيْنِ يَتِيمَيْنِfor two orphan boys,فِىinٱلْمَدِينَةِthe town,وَكَانَand wasتَحْتَهُۥunderneath itكَنزٌa treasureلَّهُمَاfor themوَكَانَand wasأَبُوهُمَاtheir fatherصَـٰلِحًاrighteous.فَأَرَادَSo intendedرَبُّكَyour Lordأَنthatيَبْلُغَآthey reachأَشُدَّهُمَاtheir maturity,وَيَسْتَخْرِجَاand bring forthكَنزَهُمَاtheir treasureرَحْمَةً(as) a mercyمِّنfromرَّبِّكَ‌ۚyour Lord.وَمَاAnd notفَعَلْتُهُۥI did itعَنْonأَمْرِى‌ۚmy (own) accord.ذَٲلِكَThatتَأْوِيلُ(is the) interpretationمَا(of) whatلَمْnotتَسْطِعyou were ableعَّلَيْهِon itصَبْرًا(to have) patience." 82

وَيَسْــَٔلُونَكَAnd they ask youعَنaboutذِى ٱلْقَرْنَيْنِ‌ۖDhul-qarnain.قُلْSay,سَأَتْلُواْ"I will reciteعَلَيْكُمto youمِّنْهُabout himذِكْرًاa remembrance." 83

إِنَّاIndeed, Weمَكَّنَّا[We] establishedلَهُۥ[for] himفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earth,وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُand We gave himمِنofكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingسَبَبًاa means. 84

فَأَتْبَعَSo he followedسَبَبًاa course 85

حَتَّىٰٓUntil,إِذَاwhenبَلَغَhe reachedمَغْرِبَ(the) setting placeٱلشَّمْسِ(of) the sun,وَجَدَهَاhe found itتَغْرُبُsettingفِىinعَيْنٍa springحَمِئَةٍ(of) dark mud,وَوَجَدَand he foundعِندَهَاnear itقَوْمًا‌ۗa community.قُلْنَاWe said,يَـٰذَا ٱلْقَرْنَيْنِ"O Dhul-qarnain!إِمَّآEitherأَن[that]تُعَذِّبَyou punishوَإِمَّآorأَن[that]تَتَّخِذَyou takeفِيهِمْ[in] themحُسْنًا(with) goodness." 86

قَالَHe said,أَمَّا"As forمَن(one) whoظَلَمَwrongs,فَسَوْفَthen soonنُعَذِّبُهُۥwe will punish him.ثُمَّThenيُرَدُّhe will be returnedإِلَىٰtoرَبِّهِۦhis Lord,فَيُعَذِّبُهُۥand He will punish himعَذَابًا(with) a punishmentنُّكْرًاterrible. 87

وَأَمَّاBut as forمَنْ(one) whoءَامَنَbelievesوَعَمِلَand doesصَـٰلِحًاrighteous (deeds),فَلَهُۥthen for himجَزَآءً(is) a rewardٱلْحُسْنَىٰ‌ۖgood.وَسَنَقُولُAnd we will speakلَهُۥto himمِنْfromأَمْرِنَاour commandيُسْرًا(with) ease." 88

ثُمَّThenأَتْبَعَhe followedسَبَبًا(a) course 89

حَتَّىٰٓUntil,إِذَاwhenبَلَغَhe reachedمَطْلِعَ(the) rising placeٱلشَّمْسِ(of) the sun,وَجَدَهَاand he found itتَطْلُعُrisingعَلَىٰonقَوْمٍa communityلَّمْnotنَجْعَلWe madeلَّهُمfor themمِّن دُونِهَاagainst itسِتْرًاany shelter. 90

كَذَٲلِكَThus.وَقَدْAnd verily,أَحَطْنَاWe encompassedبِمَاof whatلَدَيْهِ(was) with himخُبْرًا(of the) information. 91

ثُمَّThenأَتْبَعَhe followedسَبَبًاa course 92

حَتَّىٰٓUntil,إِذَاwhenبَلَغَhe reachedبَيْنَbetweenٱلسَّدَّيْنِthe two mountains,وَجَدَhe foundمِن دُونِهِمَاbesides themقَوْمًاa community,لَّاnotيَكَادُونَwho would almostيَفْقَهُونَunderstandقَوْلاً(his) speech. 93

قَالُواْThey said,يَـٰذَا ٱلْقَرْنَيْنِ"O Dhul-qarnain!إِنَّIndeed,يَأْجُوجَYajujوَمَأْجُوجَand Majujمُفْسِدُونَ(are) corruptersفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe land.فَهَلْSo mayنَجْعَلُwe makeلَكَfor youخَرْجًاan expenditureعَلَىٰٓ[on]أَنthatتَجْعَلَyou makeبَيْنَنَاbetween usوَبَيْنَهُمْand between themسَدًّاa barrier?" 94

قَالَHe said,مَا"Whatمَكَّنِّىhas established meفِيهِ[in it]رَبِّىmy Lordخَيْرٌ(is) better,فَأَعِينُونِىbut assist meبِقُوَّةٍwith strength,أَجْعَلْI will makeبَيْنَكُمْbetween youوَبَيْنَهُمْand between themرَدْمًاa barrier. 95

ءَاتُونِىBring meزُبَرَsheetsٱلْحَدِيدِ‌ۖ(of) iron"حَتَّىٰٓuntil,إِذَاwhenسَاوَىٰhe (had) leveledبَيْنَbetweenٱلصَّدَفَيْنِthe two cliffs,قَالَhe said,ٱنفُخُواْ‌ۖ"Blow,"حَتَّىٰٓuntilإِذَاwhenجَعَلَهُۥhe made itنَارًاfire,قَالَhe said,ءَاتُونِىٓ"Bring me,أُفْرِغْI pourعَلَيْهِover itقِطْرًاmolten copper." 96

فَمَاSo notٱسْطَـٰعُوٓاْthey were ableأَنtoيَظْهَرُوهُscale itوَمَاand notٱسْتَطَـٰعُواْthey were ableلَهُۥin itنَقْبًا(to do) any penetration. 97

قَالَHe said,هَـٰذَا"Thisرَحْمَةٌ(is) a mercyمِّنfromرَّبِّى‌ۖmy Lord.فَإِذَاBut whenجَآءَcomesوَعْدُ(the) Promiseرَبِّى(of) my Lord,جَعَلَهُۥHe will make itدَكَّآءَ‌ۖlevel.وَكَانَAnd isوَعْدُ(the) Promiseرَبِّى(of) my Lordحَقًّاtrue." 98

۞ وَتَرَكْنَاAnd We (will) leaveبَعْضَهُمْsome of themيَوْمَئِذٍ(on) that Dayيَمُوجُto surgeفِىoverبَعْضٍ‌ۖothers,وَنُفِخَand (will be) blownفِىinٱلصُّورِthe trumpet,فَجَمَعْنَـٰهُمْthen We (will) gather themجَمْعًاall together. 99

وَعَرَضْنَاAnd We (will) presentجَهَنَّمَHellيَوْمَئِذٍ(on) that Dayلِّلْكَـٰفِرِينَto the disbelievers,عَرْضًا(on) display 100

ٱلَّذِينَThoseكَانَتْhad beenأَعْيُنُهُمْtheir eyesفِىwithinغِطَآءٍa coverعَنfromذِكْرِىMy remembrance,وَكَانُواْand wereلَاnotيَسْتَطِيعُونَableسَمْعًا(to) hear. 101

أَفَحَسِبَDo then thinkٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوٓاْdisbelieveأَنthatيَتَّخِذُواْthey (can) takeعِبَادِىMy servantsمِن دُونِىٓbesides Meأَوْلِيَآءَ‌ۚ(as) protectors?إِنَّآIndeed, We -أَعْتَدْنَاWe have preparedجَهَنَّمَHellلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَfor the disbelieversنُزُلاً(as) a lodging. 102

قُلْSay,هَلْ"ShallنُنَبِّئُكُمWe inform youبِٱلْأَخْسَرِينَof the greatest losersأَعْمَـٰلاً(as to their) deeds? 103

ٱلَّذِينَThose -ضَلَّis lostسَعْيُهُمْtheir effortفِىinٱلْحَيَوٲةِthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the world,وَهُمْwhile theyيَحْسَبُونَthinkأَنَّهُمْthat theyيُحْسِنُونَ(were) acquiring goodصُنْعًا(in) work." 104

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَThoseٱلَّذِينَ(are) the ones whoكَفَرُواْdisbelieveبِـَٔـايَـٰتِin the Versesرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lord,وَلِقَآئِهِۦand the meeting (with) Him.فَحَبِطَتْSo (are) vainأَعْمَـٰلُهُمْtheir deeds,فَلَاso notنُقِيمُWe will assignلَهُمْfor themيَوْمَ(on) the Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionوَزْنًاany weight. 105

ذَٲلِكَThatجَزَآؤُهُمْ(is) their recompense -جَهَنَّمُHell -بِمَاbecauseكَفَرُواْthey disbelieved,وَٱتَّخَذُوٓاْand tookءَايَـٰتِىMy Versesوَرُسُلِىand My Messengersهُزُوًا(in) ridicule. 106

إِنَّIndeed,ٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُواْbelievedوَعَمِلُواْand didٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِrighteous deeds,كَانَتْ لَهُمْfor them will beجَنَّـٰتُGardensٱلْفِرْدَوْسِ(of) the Paradiseنُزُلاً(as) a lodging, 107

خَـٰلِدِينَAbiding foreverفِيهَاin it.لَاNotيَبْغُونَthey will desireعَنْهَاfrom itحِوَلاًany transfer. 108

قُلSay,لَّوْ" Ifكَانَwereٱلْبَحْرُthe seaمِدَادًاink,لِّكَلِمَـٰتِfor (the) Wordsرَبِّى(of) my Lord,لَنَفِدَsurely (would be) exhaustedٱلْبَحْرُthe seaقَبْلَbeforeأَن[that]تَنفَدَ(were) exhaustedكَلِمَـٰتُ(the) Wordsرَبِّى(of) my Lord,وَلَوْeven ifجِئْنَاWe broughtبِمِثْلِهِۦ(the) like (of) itمَدَدًا(as) a supplement." 109

قُلْSay,إِنَّمَآ"Onlyأَنَا۟Iبَشَرٌ(am) a manمِّثْلُكُمْlike you.يُوحَىٰٓHas been revealedإِلَىَّto meأَنَّمَآthatإِلَـٰهُكُمْyour Godإِلَـٰهٌ(is) Godوَٲحِدٌ‌ۖOne.فَمَنSo whoeverكَانَisيَرْجُواْhopingلِقَآءَ(for the) meetingرَبِّهِۦ(with) his Lord,فَلْيَعْمَلْlet him doعَمَلاًdeedsصَـٰلِحًاrighteousوَلَاand notيُشْرِكْassociateبِعِبَادَةِin (the) worshipرَبِّهِۦٓ(of) his Lordأَحَدَۢاanyone." 110
